Samsung’s Series 5 Chromebook laptop has been getting a lot of attention
lately, with customers more and more interested in the fastest Web
browsing experience. So, what’s new in Samsung 5 Chromebook News? Acer
has a $199 Chromebook series 3 that’s half the price of a Samsung Series
5, but looking at tech specs, this low-budget laptop doesn’t stand a
chance.
Earlier this year, the Samsung 5 Chromebook 550 was
introduced, giving Internet users there’s a chance to a faster, better
Web browsing experience. Promoted as a fast portable Web terminal that’s
everything netbooks promised combined with great social networking
abilities, speedy bootup time and iconic design, the Samsung 5
Chromebook 500 was the beginning of a new market.
Since the release, the Samsung 5 Chromebook News kept bringing under the spotlight some of the laptop’s more budget-based contenders. For now, at least, there’s no actual competitor in the Samsung 5 Chromebook market that manages to come even close when it comes to the quality-price ratio.
Google and Acer released a $199 Chromebook, and even if it’s half the price of Samsung 5 Chromebook, there is a lot that’s missing from a device that promises a great user experience. The new Chromebook has been selling for more than two weeks now, but users are not impressed with the cost-effective price tag, noticing there’s a lot they’d like to have even for $199.
As opposed to the $499 Samsung Chromebook 550, the $199 Acer Chromebook comes with a slower processor, low battery life 2GB RAM and no NAND storage. Many argued Chromebooks would be better (even if pricier) if they would pack the 8+ hours minimum of battery life. Acer’s $199 Chromebook has a battery life of only 3.5 hours.
Although not impressive in DDR3 RAM memory, the $199 Acer Samsung does offer a 100GB subscription to Google Drive for two years. But whereas other Chromebooks feature the offer more of a bonus, Acer’s Chromebook’s is a necessity if you want to use it as an actual laptop. It’s also not a great deal, seeing as you’re likely going to pay $120 a month for that 100GB on Google Drive to keep everything you stored for two years.
For now at least, it’s obvious there isn’t a contender in the news to Samsung 5 Chromebook.
